The Australia China Science and Research Fund (ACSRF) provides support for strategic science and research collaboration of mutual benefit to Australia and China. It will:

Joint research centres
Joint research centres (JRC) are virtual centres which link Australian and Chinese research institutions in a specified field of research.
The single funding round for JRC applications has concluded with the award of funding to establish six centres.

Group missions
Group missions are visits by Australian groups to China or Chinese groups to Australia. Groups must be of two or more personnel. Group missions are funded to achieve specific purposes related to research and research-driven innovation.

Applications for the 2013-14 round will open on 1 July 2013 and close on 2 August 2013 (or when funding allocations are complete).

Australia China Science Academies Symposia Series
The series seeks to strengthen cooperative research links between Australia and China in areas of mutual national interest, by enabling leading Australian scientists to discuss issues and collaborative research projects with Chinese counterparts.

Australia China Young Researchers Exchange Program
The program aims to facilitate long term science and research collaboration between Australia and China. It brings together mid-career researchers from Australia and China who have shown outstanding scientific skills and potential for senior positions.
Applications for the final round will close on Sunday 16 June 2013. For information on how to apply and eligibility, go to the Group of Eight website.

Knowledge exchange
The department will undertake and support activities that increase the exchange of knowledge about science and research collaboration between government, the science and research community, industry and other stakeholders.
For example:
There are no funding rounds. When the department needs to identify partners for knowledge exchange activities, we will issue a call for proposals.

Project reporting
If your organisation receives group mission funding, you must submit project reports and financial statements to acsrf@innovation.gov.au.
